Welcome to the Mate Foundation’s Menstrual Hygiene Program. At Mate Foundation, we are dedicated to breaking the silence and stigma surrounding menstruation. Our mission is to empower women and girls through education, access to menstrual hygiene products, and supportive community initiatives.
We envision a world where every woman and girl can manage their menstruation with dignity and confidence. Our goal is to create an environment where menstrual hygiene is no longer a barrier to education, health, or participation in daily life.
Education is the cornerstone of our menstrual hygiene program. We conduct comprehensive workshops and training sessions to raise awareness, educate communities about the biological and social aspects of menstruation, dispel myths, and reduce stigma. These initiatives also promote health by teaching women and girls proper menstrual hygiene practices to prevent infections and ensure overall well-being. Additionally, we empower local educators and community leaders to become menstrual hygiene advocates, spreading knowledge and support within their communities.
We believe that no woman or girl should miss out on opportunities due to a lack of menstrual hygiene products. Our initiatives include distribution programs that provide free or subsidized menstrual hygiene products such as sanitary pads, tampons, and menstrual cups to those in need. We also promote sustainable solutions by encouraging the use of reusable menstrual products, which reduce environmental impact and ensure long-term affordability. Furthermore, we support local production of menstrual hygiene products to create jobs and ensure a consistent supply within communities.
Creating a supportive environment is essential for the success of our menstrual hygiene program. We focus on community engagement by involving men, boys, and community leaders in conversations about menstrual hygiene to foster understanding and support. Our school programs provide menstrual hygiene education and products to students, ensuring that menstruation does not hinder their education. Additionally, we advocate for policies that support menstrual health and hygiene, aiming for systemic changes that benefit women and girls.
