for Communities in
Rural Kenya

About the Mate Foundation's
Work

The Mate Foundation, a non-profit organisation driving change for rural communities in Kenya, is dedicated to transforming lives through initiatives grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By initiating and supporting projects that inform, empower, and enhance people's dignity, the Mate Foundation strengthens the capacity of local communities to tackle challenges related to education, environmental conservation, climate change, and sustainable livelihoods.

We prioritize the health and well-being of all community members through targeted initiatives like our Menstrual Hygiene programme, which provides essential resources and education to ensure that women and girls can manage their menstrual health with dignity, thus contributing to overall community health.

We are dedicated to promoting quality education by supporting the provision of learning materials, infrastructure, scholarships, and mentorship opportunities. We work in partnership with local schools and communities to ensure that children from underprivileged backgrounds have access to the education they need to succeed and contribute positively to society.

Committed to addressing the urgent challenges of climate change, we actively engage in environmental conservation efforts. We promote sustainable practices, restore ecosystems, and enhance community resilience through education and hands-on initiatives, ensuring that our actions today do not compromise the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

We support People to Build Resilient Communities

We believe that everyone deserves a fair chance in life to reach their full potential. Regardless of background, circumstance, or challenge, every individual possesses unique talents and abilities waiting to be unleashed. By investing in people and fostering an environment of inclusivity, compassion, and support, we pave the way for a brighter, more equitable future where every person can realise their dreams and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

Partner With Us
to Build Resilient Communities

We extend an invitation to organisations and donors to join us in our mission to build resilient communities. Our holistic approach, rooted in local empowerment and innovation, ensures that interventions are not only effective but also sustainable in the long term. Through collaborative partnerships, we amplify our impact, reaching more communities and driving meaningful change together. Together, we can build a future where resilience thrives, even in the face of adversity.
